HIDES SKINS AND TALLOW SALE. The monthly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow was held on Tuesday last, when a full bench of buyers was in attendance. Sheepskins, in sympathy with the wool market, showed a sharp increase, and hides were also in keen demand at prices in excess of last sale figures. Tallow showed a slight increase. Prices realised were;— SHEEPSKINS. Dalgety and Co. report :London wool sale opened with good general competition. Attendance large, selection good. As compared with closing rates of last season, merino par to 5 per cent higher, crossbred 7J to 10 per cent higher.
