BOY SCOUT JAMBOREE
TO BE HELD IN 1929. INVITATION TO OVERSEAS ASSOCIATIONS. Christchurch, November 24. At the annual conference of the Boy Scouts’ Association to-dav it was decided to give preliminary notices to the different Scout districts telling them that an Imperial jamboree might be held in 1929, and New Zealand may ,be sending a quota. A letter was received by the conference from Sir Alfred Pickford, detaling the proposal to hold the jamboree, and concluding: “ A cordial invitation is therefore extended to all associations overseas to send contingents in 1929.’’ Brigadier-General Andrew said that England would take any number of Scouts they liked to send. One hundred boys would cost,. £lO,OOO. Headquarters would send out the notices to the different centres, and ascertain how many boys could go. Each district would have to arrange the financial part.
