ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Mrs. Janet Morrison, who was admitted to the Auckland Hospital on Sunday in a critical condition, as the result of gas poisoning, djed last night. Her husband, James Morrison, is reported to be improving.
Alfred Godfrey, an old aged pensioner, of 70 years, was found hanging in his whore on the Napier road, Palmerston North, at noon yesterday. He had not been sent out since Sat* urday midday
Tljomas Hanna, aged 25, has been missing from his home in Gisborne since last evening His clothes were found on the Waimata riverbank at 8.45 p.m. The police were searching this morning. ,
A serious collision occurred at a railway level crossing about half a mile on the Nelson side of Wakefield, between a car driven by Herbert Lee, aged 19, of Reefton, and the Nelson to Belgrove train. Lee is suffering slight concussion but his condition is not serious The car struck the train, resulting in the derailing of the two trucks behind the engine. The motor was carried through the cattlestops and smashed up, with Lee beneath the wreckage. A man named Saddler, of Reefton, who also was in the tai', was thrown clear and was unhurt.
A serious accident occurred in Tinline Valley, Pelorous district, a bushman named Theodore Johansen Eggers, aged 51. a married man with five children, being crushed by a large tree which he and another num were jacking off a hillside. Egger s jack slipped and the log shot down the hill, crushing him in its fall. Two hours weqe occupied in bringing the injured man into the mill, and a further lengthy journey was necessitated by his removal to Rai Valiey, where he was seen by a doctor who ordered him to hospital at Blenheim. It is understood he is suffering from fractured pelvis apd internal injuries. His condition is critical.
Mrs W. Thompson, who, on November 14, while bathing at night in Kuirau Reserve stepped into an overheated poql and was badly scalded. and taken to hospital is in a critical condition.
Jessen, who was severely burned when a tin of methylated spirits exploded yesterday, died in hospital in Wellington during the night. The other num shows slight improvement but is still in u somewhat critical state.
