A Christchurch firm received advice from London yesterdav confirming the rumpur regarding the damage to the Port Caroline's cargo. The steamer had in her cargo 70,000 boxes of hutter, 30.000 of which were stored in number two hold, which was principally affected. Of these 15,000 nre partially damaged. Al] the butter was from the North Island. Latest advice from search parties for William Williams and James Bowman, of Taka puna, who have not been seen since their yaent capsized in Auckland harbour on Saturday afternoon, states that no traca has been discovered. The opinion was expressed hv one of the searchers that it was impossible tliet either man could have survived.
