BRITAIN'S IMPORTS.

WHERE SUPPLIES COME FROM

In the House of Commons, Capt. D. H. Hacking told a questioner that the dominions in 1926 supplied 52 per cent, of Britain’s wheat imports and 25 per cent, of her meat. The United States supplied 31.8 and 12.8 per cent, respectively. Asked whether the Admiralty would consider the advisability ot limiting tenders for the supply oi beef for Home Commands to Dominion and British grown Lieut-Col. 0. M. Headlam said that apart from local contracts nt home ports which were restricted to dominion and home grown, .the Admiralty preferred to adhere to the present practice.—(A. and N.Z.)
