CRICKET
JUSTIFYING THE TOUR NEW ZEALAND WINS BY AN INNINGS, WICKET IN FAVOUR OF BOWLERS. Christchurch, Nov. 21. The New Zealand touring team, in the last match before disbanding, beat the rest of New Zealand to-day by an innings and 46 runs. The wicket, which had stood the heavy rain on Saturday, was thoroughly soaked by more rain early this morn, ing. The wicket was a bowler’s paradise. and the outfield • slow and spongy. Under these conditions the fielding side had the batsmen at their mercy. Very few of the batsmen made any sort of a stand, and as the New Zealand side were clearly trying to get the Rest out quickly and end the match in time for members to leave to-night, the spectators saw some excellent cricket.
