THE PICTURE HOUSES.
COSY DE LUXE. A story of fighting love and a succession of rousing thrills were revealed at the Cosy on Saturday night, when “Arizona Bound,’’ the first picture plesentmg Gary Cooper, Paramount’s new Western star, opened. It proved interesting not only because of the production itself, but because it introduces a film hero who seems destined to achieve marked popularity in the Western field. Cooper impresses one as being an actor of exceptional personality, with a tall, splendid physique that accords perfectly with the prevalent idea of the typical cowboy. The picture abounds in suspense and thrilling action. In “Desert Valley,” Buck Jones is given an oppoitunity to show his horsemanship to good advantage. From beginning to end. the picture calls for unabated action. Red Rock and Jawbone canyons in the Mojave desert were chosen for these sequences, because of the unique lava formations which provide excellent settings. MUNICIPAL In Hoot Gibson there is a perfect combination of both physical agility and mobility of features. His skill as a rider of vicious and untamed horses is unchallenged; his ability to portray the emotion is flawtess. When you see him in the starrin role of “Hey!' Hey! Cowboy,” the current feature at the Municipal Theatre, you will know why ho has the field to himself in his firm rendition of a guileless, hard-riding two-gun cowboy, who is continually entangling himself in al] sorts of comical situations. “Hey! Hey! Cowboy” is Hoot Gibson’s latest effort in Westerns, written for him by Lynn Reynolds, who has been directing him in a number of features during the past year. The action in this picture is the greatest of any of Gibson's recent releases and gives him full scope tn display his nualities of expression and personality. The support cast includes Kathleen Kcv “STitn*' linn merville. Wheeler Oakman Clarke Comstock, Monte Montague. Jim Corey, Nick Cogley and Milla Daven port.
