HAVELOCK NORTH
SCHOOL SPORTS ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON. SOCIAL IN THE EVENING. Saturday afternoon was a big day for the children of Havelock North, the school sports being then held in the Domain. A fair number of parents and friends attended and fine weather, in conjunction with promptness in the marshalling of competitors. made the outing a most successful one. Stalls for the sale of sweets, soft drinks an ( ] ire-creams were on the ground and were well patronised. y tn the evening the senior girls and boys held a social in the Village Hall, which a large number attended, A very pleasant evening was spent in games and dancing under the supervision of the teachers.
The proceeds are to go towards the purchase of cricket material and this object should benefit to the extent of about £3O.
The results of the afternoon’s sports are as follows:—
