POLITICAL MAGAZINE’S POLL.

(Received: 21. 9.25 a.m.) Washington, November 19. The interest has been attracted of political circles by a poll of newspaper editors and political leaders throughout the country conducted by a political magazine, which forecast the nomination of Governor Smith (Democrat) as Presidential candidate and Mr Hoover (Republican). It was presumed that Mr Coolidge would not be an aspirant. Mr Smith received many times more votes than any of the others. Senator Reed being second. Mr Hoover, however, maintained only a small lead over ex-Govemor Lodwee. of Illinois, as Republican choice.—A. and N.Z.)
