WAIERSIDERS IN AUSTRALIA NO WORK AFTER S p.m. TO APPLY TO OVERSEAS SHIPg ONLY. IBy Cabls-l’rsss A»n.-Copyright.! (Received 21, 10.15 a.m.) Melbourne, Nov. 21. The management committee of the Waterside Workers' Federation decided to begin another overtime strike on the wharvee at all ports in Australia. The decision, which was the result of a conference between the federation and the oversea representativea to discuss the new claims of tho watersiders, will apply to oversea ships only and will take effect to-day, the men refusing to work alter five o'clock this afternoon.
All oversea ships will be affected, including those under foreign register, and considerable delay in the shipment of cargoes will result. No decision has so far been reached by the federation in regard to interstate shipping, but should these vessels also be included it will be necessary for the federation to obtain the support of the Seamen’s Union and other organisations on the waterfront. As wool shipping is now at its height shippers will be greatly affected.
