FAREWELL TEA

A pleasant tea was given by Airs Waterwoith, of Charlotte Crescent, on Wednesday, when sho invited to her house a number of the girl friends of Misses Nancy Fannin and Rona Woodward, who leave soon lor Auckland,

The drawing-room had sweet bowls on the mantlepiece and tables of red and pink roses arranged with pink huchera.

Mrs Waterworth was wearing a French frock of knife-pleated black georgette with yoke hem and sleeves of black Spanish lace. Miss Rona Woodward was in a jade Liberty satin with tiny floral design, made with bands of plain jade satin and a pleated skirt. A soft fawn hat was also worn. Miss Nancy Fannin wore a pansy silk frock with effective design in cyclamen, and a small beige hat with floral posy. A Limerick competition was won by Hon. B. O’Brien and the “booby” prize by Miss Joan Landels.

After a delicious tea and sweets were handed round another clever competition was won. after a tie, by Miss J, Cameron, who was given an ornamental jar of bath salts, a "doggie’’ tape measure being won.by Mis s Myra Lindsay. Among.those present were Mrs J. Hill, Miss J. Cameron. Misses Phyllis. Rona and Betty Woodward, Miss Sheila McLeod, Miss Gretchen von Dadelszen, Miss Joan Landels. Miss Norah Hassall, Hon. B O’Brien Miss Betty Lewis, Miss Doris Hagsitt. Miss Myra Lindsay, and Miss M. Pinckney.
