WOMEN’C CLUB
PLAY BEADING CIRCLE. Two very different plays were read on Monday last at the Women’s Club by members of the Play Reading Circle. “The Monkey's Paw,’’ by Jacobs, was the first given. This play is tragic, weird, and thrilling in turn and was very well read. The following took part:—Mrs Hogg. Mrs Curlett. Mrs Budd and Mrs Marshall. In contrast the second play. "TinKing’s Waistcoat,’’ was most amusing, and all entered into their parts with enthusiasm. Those reading were Mrs Rainbow, Mrs Lovell-Smith, Miss M. Curlett, Mrs Budd. Miss Fox-Rogers, Miss Bullow and Miss Ford. Stage directors for both plays were read by Mrs Perrin, one of the circle leaders. There will be still another meeting of this circle before Christmas, a play will be read on Monday 28ih, and then, on account of holidays, there will be an interim until February next.
