ARBITRATION COURT
CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION. JUDGMENT FOE DEFENDANT. . The sitting of the Arbitration Court concluded at Napier yesterday when Mr Justice Frazer presided. Associated with him were Messrs A. L. Monteith (representing the workers) and W. Scott (representing the employers). The cas e in which John Lawrence Mclntosh claimed compensation from Henry Bodley on the grounds that he was employed by the defendant at the time of meeting with an accident, occupied the attention of the court for the better part of the day. After the hearing of lengthy evidence Mis Honour stated that the case had proved an extremely complicated one. It was perfectly simple from a legal viewpoint, but the actual facts had been so indefinite that it was extremely hard to come to a do cision. “The whole case depends on,whether the plaintiff has proven that Mr and Mrs Bodley were in partnership. There is certainly a strong suggestion that they were, hut there was no actual proof,” declared His Honour in gi't*ng judgment for the defendant.
“I feel very sorry for Mclntosh ” remarked His Honour, “for although he has certainly received £2OO from Mrs Bodley it is a very inadequate compensation.”
