TRAINING TRACK ACCIDENT LOMBARDO’S NECK BROKEN Sent out for a run with Elicit over the schooling hurdles at Hastings this morning, the locally well-known jumper Lombardo had a bad fail at one of the fences, the result being a broken neck. His rider, C. Stratton, also suffered severely, three of his ribs being broken. Lombardo was a well-bred seven-year-old eelding, being by Polydamon—'Woodhey. Though not a winner this season, he had run two seconds in his four starts and was showinc: improved form generally. His loss is thus a serious one to his owner-trainer H. S. Greene.
