The Levin Racing Club’s meeting is being held to-day. Results:— Manakau Hurdles.—'3 Mister Gamp 1, 1 Vexatious 2, 8 Chrissarton 3. Scratched: Matu, Blue Peter. Won by three lengths. Time, 2.50. Weraroa Hack Handicap.—7 Some Lad 1,2 Excess 2, 3 Archon 3. Scratched: Pangolin, Twink, Volplane. Won by two lengths.- Time. 1.41 1-5. Maiden Handicap.—3 Desert Lad 1, 5 Plane 2. 4 Broad Acre 3. Scr.: Gold Cure, Waiorua. Won by a head, half a head, a length between second and third. Time, 1.16. Makomako Handicap.—l.l Bissac ’ 10 Carrigalien 2, 7 M»ui 3. All started. Won by a nose, a head between second and third. Time, 1,15 1-5. OTAHUHU TROTS. Auckland, Nov. 19The Otahuhu Trotting Club’s spring meeting opened in threatening weather before a good attendance. The track is in splendid order. Results :— Introductory Handicap.—6 Roez (Roe) 1, 9 Anseline (Gee) 2 1 Bright Light 3. Scratched: Billy Carbine, Great Change. Won -by 60 yards, half a length between second and third. Time. 3.39 4-5. Mangere Handicap.—ll Padlock (Hughes) 1, 17 Red Star (Maxted) 2, 5 Dillon Huon (Corrigan) 3. Scratched Roamer. W’on by a length and a-half; a length between second and third. Time. 2.53 4-5 Onehunga Handicap.—B Florent (Lee) 1, 3 Amaris (Shaw) 2,2 Gold Jacket (Kinnimont) 3. Scratched: Luvan, Lord Nepean, Waikaha. Won by a head. Time. 4.34 2-5. TRAINING TRACK ACCIDENT LOMBARDO’S NECK BROKEN Sent out for a run with Elicit over the schooling hurdles at Hastings this morning, the locally well-known jumper Lombardo had a bad fail at one of the fences, the result being a broken neck. His rider, C. Stratton, also suffered severely, three of his ribs being broken. Lombardo was a well-bred seven-year-old eelding, being by Polydamon—'Woodhey. Though not a winner this season, he had run two seconds in his four starts and was showinc: improved form generally. His loss is thus a serious one to his owner-trainer H. S. Greene.
