TROTTING.
HAWKE’S BAY CLUB. COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the committee of the Hawke’s Bay Trotting Club was held yesterday afternoon, Mr. G. Ebbett presiding. The Acting-Minister of Internal Affairs wrote approving of the allotment to the Hawke’s Bay Club of the one-day totalisator license surrendered by the Poverty Bay Club. It was decided to apply for permission to use this permit on the King's Birthday (June 4th). The programme for the meeting to be held on Saturday, 28th January, was drawn up, allowing for £l2OO in stakes, and the first race was timed to start at 12.45 p.m. Officials were appointed fbr the year and a handsome silver cup was donated by Mr. J. R. Corrigan, of Hawera, to go to the owner of the winner of the Hawke’s Bay Cup Handicap. Three new members were appointed.
