BRITISH COAL INDUSTRY
MR. MADONALD’S NOTICE OF MOTION.

In the House, of Commons, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald asked whether, in view of the grave importance of the position in the coal industry. Mr. Baldwin would take early opportunity of making a statement on the subject. Mr. Baldwin replied that the Government’s position in respect to the coal industry would have been fully explained yesterday by Sir P. Cun-liffe-Lister but for the unfortunate incident which had then occurred. In the circumstances he could not promise further opportunity for discussion.
Mr. MacDonald then gave notice of motion protesting that on the ooa] industry’ motion involving censure of the Government the Prime Minister had deliberately evaded any defence or explanation.—(A.P.A, and “Suu” cable.)
