HORSES RETURNING. - (Received 18, 10.20 a.m.) Sydney, Nov. 18. Th© Hawk and Merry Mint are returning to New Zealand to-day. Goshawk follows shortly. SECOND DAY OF WINTON MEETING. Invercargill, Nov. 17. The annual meeting of the Winton Jockey Club concluded to-dav in beautiful weather before a good attendance. The track was in good order. The totalisator handled £10,519 10/-, as against £12,743 for the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £25,614 10/-, us against £27,311 last year. Lat© results :—

Soldier Members’ Memorial. — 1 John Bradbury 1. 2 Queen Balboa 2, 3 Vaward 3. Also started: 5 Bilbo, 4 Schottische. Won by a neck, half a length between second and third. Schottische was fourth. Time. 1.41. Turi Steeplechase.—2 Thistlecrown 1, 1 Nylotis 2, 3 Hokioi 3. Also started: 6 Greenstone. 4 Captain Sarto (ran off), and Ecuador (fell) (.coupled), 7 Cashman (fell). Soldier’s Dream (fell). Won by a length and a-hnlf, twelv© lengths between second and third. Greenstone was fourth. Time, 5.38.
Awarua Handicap.—2 Spearmaid ], 3 Coomassie 2, 6 Zelanian 3. Also started: 5 Durnial, 1 Flying Mist, 4 Ace of Hearts. Won bv a length, a length and a-half between second and third. Flying Mist was fourth. Time. 1,15 1-5. ’ Dash Trot.—l John Lee 1. 3 Turi Chimes 2, 5 Eiffel Tower 3. Won by three lengths, six lengths between second and third. White Sun was fourth. Time, 2.57 4-5. Farewell Handicap 2 Schottische 1, I Taboo 2, 5 Bloom 3. Also started : 6 Bugle Note 4 Doleful Ditty, 3 Bright Mark. Won by half a length, four lengths between second and third. Doleful Ditty was fourth. Time, 1.42.
