LATE CABLES IN BRIEF.
Melbourne Revolver Duel—The Melbourne police have withdrawn the charges against the four men arrested in connection with the deaths of “Squizzy” Taylor and John Cutmore in a revolver duel.
Fly River Massacre Feared—A radio message received in Sydney from Port Moresby states that a Government vessel is being sent to make inquiries concerning a reported massacre in the Fly River district.
Trotsky Not Assassinated A Moscow cable states that the reports that Trotsky was assassinated after hie expulsion are groundless, also the statement that he and Zinovieff were arrested. Both are at liberty.
Stock Exchange Membership.— At Wall Street, New York, a new record was reached with the sale of a Stock Exchange membership for 300,030 dollars.
Prince's Withdrawal: The Prince of Wales has withdrawn from the Army rackets tournament, in which he won the first round.
Russian Revolutionaries Arrested. “The Tinies’ ” Riga correspondent says the Latvian police arrested a revolutionary committee of seven, including the Soviet’s plenipotentiary Behrsin one of the chief Commissars at Moscow during the Bolshevik reign of terror in 1919. He had many passports and much money, the letter having been received from Moscow.
Money in Greyhound Racing.—A company with a capital of £1 000,900 including 4,000,000 shilling deferred shares, is being' formed to purchase the Greyhound Racing Association interests. The purchase price is £840,000.
Kenya Loan Oversubscribed.—The Kenya loan of £5,000,000 at 5 per cent.. 994. is oversubscribed.
