Dalgety and Co., Ltd., hare received the following cable from their London office dated the 16th inst.: 609 casks ottered at auction, 20 per cent, sold at unchanged prices

The Wellington fruitgrowers, com prising the firms of Laery and Co., Ltd., Geo. Thomas and Co.. Ltd.. Thompson Bros,. Ltd., Townsend and Haul, and D Bowie and Co , report as follows: —
Weather conditions have been rather unfavourable for cherries and strawberries, in consequence values are slightly easier on both these lines. Gooseberries, green peas and new potatoes are now increasing in quantity with a firm demand maintaining at present prices. A considerable quantity of various varieties o 1 pears have been marketed of late and practically all lines with the exception of Winter Coles and Nelis hava met only a moderate demand Dessert apples continue to arrive in goodly quantities, fancy grade having the best enquiry, other grades selling at late rates. Heavy consignments of vegetables continue to arrive with values comparatively easier. Recent, values ruling are as follows:—
Pears: Winter Cole choice 8/. to 10/-, others 5/- to 7/-; Winter Nells choice 71- to 8/-, others 5/- to 6/-; Duchess choice 5/- to 6/-. others llto 4/6; P.
