The latest report from Hankow says the situation was unchanged during the 48 hours, owing to the discussion of terms by the Nanking and Hankow commanders which is now proceeding. The Nankingites ar a remaining a few miles from Nanaow awaiting the outcome. According to latest reports, says a British official wireless message, conditions are comparatively quiet in Hankow and in neighbouring cities of Nanyang and Wuchang.
The Wuhan forces have left the last two towns, and the Nanking advance troops arc stated to be in Wuchang, and an official welcome to them is under preparation.—(A. and N.Z.)
