EMIGRANTS
COST OF TRAINING.
(Received 17. 11.35 a.m.) London, November 16. In the House of Commons, to a questioner who pointed out that the training of young emigrants to the dominions was costing the Ministry of Labour £2 13s 4d per capita a week and the Salvation Army only fl 19s 4d, the Hon. A. D. Steel-Mait-land replied that the respective costs were incomparable as voluntary bodies obtained the Empire Settlement Act grant. ITALIAN MIGRANTS(Received 17, 11.35 a.m.) Canberra, November 17. Through its Consul-General in Australia, the Italian Government has announced, in compliance with a request from Australia, that no more migrants will be given passports for Australian industrial areas while unemployment continues to be serious. No reply has yet been received to a similar request to Greece,
