THREATS TO EDUCATION BOARD. EX-ARMY MAN’S LETTER. A “man who gets things done,” has given fair warning to the Auckland Education Board but the board has returned his letter and dared him to do his worst. The letter received by the board yesterday morning asked why a new school at AapuKu (Mercer), nad not. been erected as the grant had been authorised two years ago, states the “Sun.” It continued, "If 1 don’t hear from you within the next few days that this school is being erected in the very near future, 1 intend placing the full facts of the case belore the Prime Minister and 1 might tell you that being an exN.C.O. of the North Auckland Company, when 1 write to Mr. Coates 1 get things done, and it behoves you to shake things along, as the matter is nothing more or less than absolute disgrace to your department. “Trussing that I shall hear favourably from you and avoid further action in the matter, (Signed) T. MAXWELL.”

It was explained that the contract for the school had been Cancelled because the roll number had fallen. “Action front!” said Mr. H. S. W. King, as the letter was read. The chairman. Mr. A. Burns: We should return his letter. We can't accept his threats even if he gets things done! Mr. J. Patterson said that it certainly was a disgraceful thing that the new school was not granted. The chairman: If he gets it done we will all be pleased. We have not been able to.

Mr. King: We cannot accept a letter couched in that language. We should return it and say everything has been done to get the school. The chairman; We are all in favour of the school, if the department will give its sanction. It was decided to return the letter.
