RELEASE OF STEEGE PARTY
AGREEMENT REACHED.
RANSOM TO BE PAID
(Received 17, 10.35 a.m.) Pans, Nov. 16. “Le Matin” announces that agreement has been reached for the libera, tion of the Steege party who were captured by Moroccan brigands. A transport conveying the ransom has left Tadla for Kaiba.—(A. and N.Z.)
A previous message stated that a shooting party of two me n and two women, relations of the French Resident, were kidnapped in Morocco and were being held for ransom. In addition tn a ransom of £16,000 demanded for the kidnapped party, the tribesmen stipulated there shall be no reprisals for seven years, they demanded the release of ten native prisoners and a guarantee that the ransom would be paid in current coinage.
