PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION. INCREASED MEMBERSHIP. (Per Press Association). Chrlstotiuroh November 17. At the annual session of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, the report stated that the total membership has reached 50,798. The net train for the year is 1918. a 3.9 per cent addition to last year’s roll. The Church has clearly won back to its normal rate of pre-war increase. The report of the Finance Committee stated that the treasurer, the Rev. W. J. Comrie. had stated his intention to ask the Assembly to relieve him of his duties as general treasurer at the end of 1928. In view of this statement and other changes known to be pending, the committee recommended the Assembly to set up a representative committee to consider the whole ouestion of a com'’-'' co and officers of the Assembly. 7he debate was adjourned.
