THE TREBLA
NEW DANCE IN ENGLAND. London, October 30. More than 800 teachers throughout the country are teaching a new dance, the Trebla. which, it is claimed, will bring into the ballroom a better style of music, for it can be danced to a Chopin Mazurka. It has been devised by Mr Albert Barnett and Miss Nora Chilo. Mr Barnett this week said to a Press reporter : “The Trebla, when shown to the experts, was popular. It has traces of the old mazurka steps, the minuet, and other dances, but is adapted for the modern ballroom. There is no Charleston or Black Bottom in it.” There are only four important steps and three variations. The main steps ore the Trebla stgp the natural and reverse turns, and the Trebla promenade. The music is played at 53 bars to the minute, or the same as a fast fox-trot, and is in J timj
