LATE CABLES IN BRIEF.
Cargo Broachers Fined: Twentyseven members of the crew of the Berrima, who were arrested on the arrival of the vessel in the Thames, were fined 1 £2 each. The charges against them related to cargo losses during the vessel’s voyage to Melbourne. 1
Maunganui Stowaway Fined: John Patrick Brian, on a charge of stowing away on the Maunganui at Wellington, was fined £B. He said he arrived in the Dominion seven years ago. and was dogged consistently by bad luck, latterly being unable to find work.
Kenya Loan Oversubscribed. -The Kenya loan of £5,000,000 at 5 per cent.. 994. is oversubscribed.
