MATCHES?
Wellington, Nov. 15. As the Question of professionals playing in shield matches will be discussed at the Christcfiurch conference this week, they were interview's! hero on the subject and expressed belief that the interests of cricket would he better served if they did not. but acted a s umpires, with the right to give advice to players during the progress of the game. Something <,r the sort is apparently done in England. In their opinion players would probably do better if they knew they were being watched by experts.
