Mr. Allan Wilkie, the famous Shakespearean manager, Will produce “Twelfth Night,” a very happy choice of play as it is full of laughter from beginning to end. Shakespeare was no niggard when arranging the story of nis plays, and in “Twelfth Night” the incident situations and plot are so rich that one is forced to the conclusion that there is material in it for half a dozen modem plays. There is the romance of Viola and Orsino, the supreme practical joke of Sir Toby and Marin / in revenge upon the fantastic steward Malvelio. the roguish pranks of Sir Andrew Aguechebk and Sir TobyBelch, the love story of Olivia and Sebastian, all helping together to . make up a perfect entertainment. \ Dressed magnificently, and in an artistic stage setting, Mr. Wilkie’s production of “Twelfth Night” is one that will remain long in the playgoer’s memory, Mr. John Cameron, who hails from Hastings, was recruited by Mr. Wilkie for his company at the beginning of this year, and in “Twelfth Night” Mr. Cameron shows his undoubted acting ability in the part of the Duke Orsino. Mr. Wilkie will play Malvolio, Miss Hunter-Watts will have the role of Viola Miss Lorna Forbes, a favourite Shakespearean player in New Zealand, will be seen as the Lady Olivia, Mr. John Cairns, who at one time was a member of the F. R. Benson Company, plays Sir TobyBalch, and Mr. Dennis Barry, an English actor gifted with an excellent singing voice, will play Festa the Jester. Miss Dulcie Cherry, a charming voung actress from Melbourne, will have the part of Maria. The box plans are at Fail’s. Although some theatres are altering their hour of commencing the performance to 8.30 p.m,, owing to the Daylight Saving Act, Mr. Allan Wilkie would like it noted that he is adhering to the usual hour of 8 o’clock commencement, which in consequence of the length of Shakespearean entertainments, is more convenient for the public
