Charge of Forgery: Before Justices of the Peace at Te Awamutu this morning Frederick Sefton, a relieving railway cadet, pleaded not guilty to three charges of the forgery of receipts for board, one at Mataroa last December and the other at To Awamutu last June. He reserved his defence, and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court.—(Press Asso. ciation.) Fred Smith aged 34. a single man residing at Whangarei and working at the Portland cement works, was caught in a conveyor this morning and his chest and abdomen severely crushed. He was removed to the Whangarei Hospital in a critical condition. '
