DESTRUCTION BY THE POWER BOARD.

(To the Editor.)

Sir. —It is apparent that the numerous complaints of damage done by tho employees of the Power Board have solid reasons to back them. This has been brought home to mo in a manner that I am not likely to 4'orget. When tho power line was being laid to the Memorial Hospital 1 inquired from th e “head” if anv of the limbs of my trees needed removal. one branch was pointed out for cutting, this was immediately done. I was assured that this was sufficient. Some time afterwards, without my knowledge' or consent, several valuable ornamental trees were hacked and lopped in such a manner as to make them worthless. 'ln the performance of this clumsy work my wire-woven .fence was damaged. Had the Power Board employees tho courtesy or decency to notify me that portion of the trees required removing I would have had the required work done immediately and with skill. That would be extending the sam c courtesy to me as I did to tho power board men when I expressed my willingness to have any limbs cut that were necessary. It takes years to them in minutes.—l am etc. a. blake Greene. Hastings. 14/11/27.
