REVISED PRAYER BOOK
LACKS ENFORCED OBEDIENCE.
PARLIAMENTARY RATIFICATION.
OPPOSED BY JOYNSON-HICKS
(Received 14, 9.5 a.m.) London, Nov. 13. The Hon. Sir W. Joynson-Hicks, who is expected to be the evangelicals' chief spokesman when the revised Prayer Book is before Parliament, has sent an important memorandum to the Parliamentary Ecclesiastical Commi 11 e e opposing ratisfication on the ground that it cannot be a final revision as the Bishops have not undertaken to enforce obedience to it; therefore it will inevitably be used as a “jumping-off ground for further demands by the advocates o Romanising practises.—(A .and Nto.)
