SEAPLANE D 1220 CRASHES.
airmen Safe.
(Received 14, 1,40 p.m.) Horta (Azores), Nov 13. The seaplane D 1220 took oft, but had not gone far when the engine stopped and the machine fell. The airmen jumped and swam until picked up by a motor boat, from which the crash was noticed. The ’plane was badly damaged, and probably the Transatlantic attempt will be abandoned.—(A. and N.Z.)
