DOMINION ’ SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS. New Plymouth. Feb. 17. The Dominion surf championship events were commenced to-day. when the land and water work in the fourmen teams event was completed. Eight teams competed. In the land work the placings were as follow Canterbury (614 points) 1. Maranui A (60}) 2, Lyall Bay C (56.)' 5. Lyan Bay A (55}) C. Taranaki A (54) 7. Taranaki B (491) 8. In the water work the positions were :—Maranui A 60 1 Maranui B 572, Lyall Bay B 57. Canterbury 55}. Taranaki A 55). Lyall Bay A 54}, Lyall Bay C 52V, Taranaki B 51. The weather was beautifully cool and bright tor the carnival last evening, when a large gathering of the public assembled to witness the programme.
