The ketch Mary Ann Hudson, J. Mortimer, master, arrived from Mohaka on Friday night, with (iO bales wool, and other cargo. The barque Waratah, Captain T. M, Fisher, left Hobntt Town on the 4th instant. Experienced variable winds and calms until the 12th, when, in latitude 43 degrees S., and longitude 150 degrees E„ she encountered a heavy southerly gale, which lasted for 12 hours, at the end of which time it moderated. Sighted Cape Farewell on the 17th, passed through Cook's Strails on the 20uh, arrived in the roadstead at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and entered the Fot at 6 the next morning. She brings 23 draught horses for Messrs Kinross and Co., also a quantity of hardwood shingles
and palings. The schooner Gem, Captain W. Watts, from Mercury Bay, arrived on Wednesday morning, with 20,000 feet of timber.
The s.s. Eangatira, Captain C. Lloyd, arrived from Wellington at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, and steamed for Poverty Bay at 5.30 last evening. She will return to Wellington to-morrow forenoon, The s.s. Result steamed forWairoaat 10.30 p.m. on Monday, aud arrived at her destination five hours later. She was to leave for Napis* last evening, and is advertized to return to Wairoa on Monday next.
