No effort is spared to make the napcr a thoroughly reliable epitome of the latest information from- all parts of the Province and Colony, and the utmost cam is taken to secure accuracy and impartiality in the department of reporting. Politically, the Hawke's Bay Times U entirely independent of any party. Public questions are dealt with upon their merits avoiding those personalities which disfigure a portion of the colonial press, In its original and selected matter alike, the Times will endeavor to maintain a high tone, and will be found always on the side of political and social reform. The rate of subscription is Six Shillings and Sixpence per Quarter. To Country Subscribers paying in advance, no charge is made for Postage. The circulation of the Hawke's Bay Times is sufficiently large to guarantee advertisers the fullest publicity to their announcements. Scale of charges for Advertisements—Firstinsertion, Two Shillings per Inch; subsequent insertions, half-price. Standing Advertisements, by Contract. In addition to its ordinary circulation among European Subscribers, the Hawke's Bay Times, being the only newspaper publishing intelligence in the Maori language, has an extensive special circulation in all those districts throughout the Colony where there is a large native or mixed population.
