The truDk of a man's body has been discovered in a waterhole nearTocal, attached to a stone by a rope, and a human head battered in has been found in another waterhole not a hundred yards distant from the other. A young man named Daniel Joseph Bradly has died in the Newcastle lockup. An inquest was held, and a verdict returned of "died from alcoholic poisoning." Mr Abbott, Minister of Mines, narrowly escaped losing his sight through mistaking sulphuric acid for an eye lotion.
The Government have telegrams stating that Sir Daniel Cooper's paralysis is likely to prevent him resuming his duties as Agent General. Sir Daniel Cooper has been appointed to represent the colony in telegraph cables negotiations. MELBOURNE. November 24.
