A meeting at Onehunga has condemned Mr Vogel's resolutions, and passed a motion approving of Mr OTtorke's action. The " bottle licence" system has happily never been introduced into this Province ; and judging from its effects elsewhere, we hope it never may. The following remarks on the subject are from the Town and Country Journal, (Sydney) :—" We find that many temperance people, in giving their custom, forget the important fact that they should, if possible, buy of those tradesmen who are of their own Order. Particularly should this be observed in the case of grocers. Temperance people are apt to be very hard on publicans, but they should not forget that as much, and perhaps more, family misery is caused by the Single Bottle Bill and the grocers. Respectable females don't care to enter an hotel, or even to send a servant or child there, but it is easy to send to the grocer's for a bottle of grog to drink at home when the husband is out Therefore, no temperance man should, if he, is consistent, deal with a grocer who sells liquor. We will publish shortly in our advertising' columns a list of temperance tradesmen, which will give members of the different Temperance Orders an opportunity of knowing with whom to deal."
