Horse sale. Mr At. R. MILLEB reports having sold by auction on Wednesday, a draft of Mr Tuke's young draught horse stock at the following rates:—Unbroken colts, £6O; medium staunch marcs, from £4l to £SG. One very handsome three year old filly, successively prize taker for two years at Auckland, was knocked down to Mr J. D. Canning for £IOO- - few hacks of any account were at the yards, and only a limited number changed hands. MELBOURNE. 18th August. Business continues dull. Brcadstuffs, a trifle firmer. Latest Mauritius dates report the canes yielding badly. The first cargo is not expected to leave before the middle of August, and as the market is cleared, nothing can come forward for six Weeks. 21st August. Improved rates have been obtained for yellow sugars. Corn sacks are improved in value. Large s ales of tobacco have taken place owing to a telegram stating that in Virginia an advance has been obtained owing to a deficient crop. The price has advanced Id here. Grain market unchanged.
