EUROPEAN NEWS TO 13th JULY.
[BY-ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] LONDON. 10th July. In the House of Commons the discussion has commenced on the Archbishop of Canterbury's Bill, for the suppression of ritualistic practices in the Church of England. Mr Gladstone is opposed to the Bill as one that is dangerous, and he thought a Judge should be appointed to institute inquiry. Lord Barrington has been unseated for Eye on petition, aud Mr W. Stanton, the Liberal member for Stroud, who was petitioned agaiust, has been declared elected. The Australian May mails via Brindisi, were delivered on the 4th July. A forged marginal credit on the National Bank of Scotland is being circulated from j San Francisco, and may reach the Australian Colonies. PARIS. 10th July. The Government have informed the Committee of Thirty that Marshal Mac mahon insists on his right of dissolving the Assembly, and his right to appoint a portion of the Upper Chamber. The Constitution debate takes place next week. 10th July. Figaro has been suspended for a fortnight for attacking the Assembly. BERLIN. 12th July. An attempt has been made to assassinate Bismarck, while he was travelling in an open carriage in the neighborhood of Kissingen. He was fired at, and slightly injured in the wrist. The assassin was immediately arrested, and found to be a young man unknown. Disturbances among the peasants of East Prussia have occurred, arising from the operation of the New Districts Regulation Law. MADRID. 12th July. The Carlist General Dorregarez has shot several Republican prisoners, and has announced his intention to carry on the war without mercy.
