For Poverty Bay— Opotiki, 4 p.m. to-day Auckland— Atlantic & Merlin, to-day Wellington— Rangatira, to-day Mohaka— Hero, early The schooner Atlantic, Capt. Hooper, left Mercury Bay on Tuesday, 2nd June, had strong S. and S.W. winds to the East Cape, which she rounded on the 3rd, at 4 p.m. From thence until off Tologa Bay, had light westerly winds, when it came on strong from the southward. When off Gable End Foreland found the wind too strong to proceed, so ran back to Tologa, where she anchored • At G a.m. on the 6th, left for Napier, and experienced light variable winds till her arrival on Monday afternoon.—The Atlantic is a new vessel, this being her first trip. The following are her dimensions:—Length of keel, 68 feet; breadth of beam, 18 feet 3 inches; depth of hold, 7 feet 6 inches. She is built of kauri, and is intended for the timber trade between this port and Auckland.

The schooner Merlin, Capt. C. Spooner, left Kennedy's Bay od Wednesday, the 3rd inst., at 8 p.m. Had light westerly winds to the East Cape, on Sunday afternoon, and from thence to port light variable winds, arriving here on Tuesday morning. Cargo: 20,000 feet timber, 71 cases apples, and about 31 tons general.

The s.s. Rangatira, Capt. Chas. Lloyd, nrrived from Wellington on Tuesday night. She had landed the mails and one boa Woad of passengers, when a black nor'-easter sprung up. She immediately weighed anchor and left for Poverty Bay, and had not returned at dark last evening.

The schooner Hero, Mortimer, master, arrived from Mobaka on Tuesday night. The ketch Three Brothers, E. Baxter' master, arrived from Poverty Bay early on Wednesday morning.

The Mary Ann Hudson sailed for Wairoa on Tuesday morning, but had to return the next day iu consequence of the bad

weather.

The s.s. Fairy steamed for Wairoa at 3 am. on Tuesday, with the ferry-punt in tow, arrived off the river at 11 a.m., and got inside shortly after.

The s.s. Pretty Jane left for Poverty Bay and Auckland at noon on Tuesday, with 25 head cattle and. 170 sheep. The Star of the South took her departure for Auckland via the Thames, at 1.30 p.m. yesterday, with a number of passengers, 48 head cattle, and HO sheep. The schooner Opotiki will sail for Poverty Bay'at 4 o'clock this afternoon, weather permitting. ;

The schooner Colonist was loading timber for Napier- at Mercury Bay when the Atlantic left. '

The si. Southern Cross.-We learn that on the arrival of the above vessel at Auckland, Captain W. Farquhar, who is at present in command, of the s.s. Star of the South, will take charge of her. - The brig Maggie, from Newcastle, with coals for Mr J, H. Vautier, may now be considered due> 'I .'-""'' '-;

SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. AUCKLAND. , 9th June. A Missing Cutter.—Pears are entertained for the saftey of the cutter Agnes, which left Manukau for, Waikato Heads eleven days ago. She has been missing ever since, with a crew of three men. The Hero arrived at 7 o'clock, having left Sydney at 6.30 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday. She had fine weather, but head winds, with a heavy swell across. She brings thirty saloon and thirty-five steerage passengers, and a very heavy cargo. SYDNEY. 2nd June. The Tartar, with the Californian mail, sails punctually on Saturday, full of passengers. H.M.S. Challenger sails on Thursday, for Wellington, to complete the shore soundings, H.M.S. Conflict' sails, the same day, for Fiji.
