LONDON. Produoe Markets.—Messrs Jas.McEwan k Co., report, under date 7th April.—Wool. —Since the close of last sales the tone of the Market has remained firm, and a fair quantity has been sold at current rates. The second scries of Public Sales will commence on 28th iust. Tallow.—There has been an improved demand since date of our last report, but prices are unaltered. Hides.—The Market is quiet without any material change in prices. New Zealand Hemp at last sales met rather less demand, and only portion sold at previous rates. COM M ERCI A L TELKGR A MS. AUCKLAND. 30th May. Live Stock.—Mr Buckland reports fat sheep in usual supply at -/-I J ; store sheep in moderate numbers, at slightly improved prices. Fat cattle, from 27/G to 32/6 1001 b. Half-bred ewes in low condition, 10/ ; lambs, 8/7. WELLINGTON. . 30th May. The Customs Revenue collected duriug the week amounted to £2,18G. CHRIS f CHURCH. 29th May. Markets.—The wet weather has had the effect of making the grain market dull. Second hand transactions in wheat have taken place at from 4/7 to 4/9. No farmers' sales of any consequence. Flour has altered to £l2 10/ in sacks, f.o.b. la Lyttulton, several lots of oats have changed hands from merchant to merchant; buyers offer farmers 4/3. First milling barley is dull at 5/. Butter is scarce at from -11£ to l/£; cheese -/6; bacon and hams, -|BJ ; potatoes, £3 5/. DUNEDIN. 27th May. SYDNEY. 23rd May. New Zealand Loan. —Tenders were opened for the New Zealand Loan ; only £25,000 have been taken at the Government minimum at home. MELBOUENE. 23rd May. Dixon, miller, of Wangaratta, has failed, with liabilities between £50,000 and £60,000. Cattle Sale. The sale of cattle of Eobertsen's cross at Colac, realised £13,000. LONDON. 16th May. Wool.—Duriug the present series of wool sales 108.000 bales have been sold, and competition continues extremely vigorous. Prices are well sustained. New Zealand Hemp was withdrawn from sale, at £l7 to £2l per ton. The New Zealand 4$ per cent Loan, for one million aud a-half, is announced at 98. 23rd May. Money is easy, and a reduction of discount is expected. The Bank reserve is stronger, but foreign stocks are depressed. Wool.— The completion of the wool sales was animated, and the prices showed an upward tendency. Another large wool failure at Bradford is announced.The New Zealand Loan. —£673,000 has been taken up at 98.
