COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. LONDON WOOL MAKKET. , . . : .,., ' 28th April.' The London colonial wool; sales opened 'this evening i when upwards of 7,500 bales •were offered, Part Philip wool preponderating. The attendance of both home and foreign buyers was large; foreign buyers were especially numerous, but the usual eagerness,obscrvalole on opening days was absent, and prices, compared with last series, show a decline, Arrivals to date, •32,000 bales.

The second day's wool sales showed more animation on the part of buyers; washed wools were -/I lower,' and half-breds, -12,; Cape wools remain unchanged. ,'■,.. ~ , " '*■ \\ 2nd May. | The wool sales are marked by considerable langour, and 2,000 bales have been withdrawn. The merchants have decided to have only four sales this season instead of five, and the next sales will commence on August 18. Balme and Co. report a decline on fleeces of -j-J to -|2 ; scoured and lambs, •H; half-brads, -/l to -/3. AUCKLAND. Bth May. Live Stock.—Mr Buckland reports fat cattle, best, at 35/; average, 30/; inferior, 25/ p 100 lbs. Full bred ewes, 20/; halfbred ewes, 24/; fat sheep, -/3J to «/4 tp lb. ; lambs, 9/ to 11/ f head. WELLINGTON. Bth May. Markets.—Flour, £l3 10/; oats, 5/, rising in price ; maize scarce, and defective in quality, at 6/, retail, 7/; butter scarce, 1/ f lb,; potatoes, £4 10/ to £5. 9th May. Owing to the competition now going on between the bakers, the 4 ft. loaf is advertised at -/5, CHRISTCHURCH. Bth May. Markets.—Wheat is not so firm, but there is a moderate export demand, and several vessels are loading for Auckland ; top price for farmers, 4/7. Oats arc in request, and a good shipping trade is doing, the price for farmers' ranging from 4/3 to 4/6. Barley, demand slackened, 6[. Grass seed dull, owing to the season being far advanced. Flour unaltered, prices (f.0.b.) for sacks being £l2 10/; 1001 b. bags, £l3 ; GO lb. bags, £l3lO/. Bran and sharps scarce ; bran, £6 5/ ; sharps, £7 ; oatmeal, £25 8s ; butter scarce, -/ll to 1/i. For cheese there is an improved demand at -/6; bacon, none ; hams, 1/ in Christchurch. Potatoes are in good demand at £3 in Christchurch, but the farmers are not selling freely, as they arc anticipating a rise. DUNEDIN. Markets.—Flour, £l2 to £l2 10/; oatmeal, £22 ; pearl barley, £25 ; potatoes, £3 10/; wheat, 4/G to 5/; barley, 4/0 to 5/ . oats, 4/, LONDON. 30th April. Tenders have been invited for a fourth Australian loan of £IBO,OOO at four per cent.. the minimum was fixed at 90 ; bauk rate, four per cent. 2nd Blay. WheaJ unaltered.
