AUCKLAND. Live Stock Market. Mr. Alfred Buckland's Hepotit (Week ending April 10.) —At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, fodder was. in moderate supply and in good demand, at a slight advance over last values—it brought 4/6 to (!/ the cwt. The heavy draught colts by Prince Arthur were freely bid for, aud realized £6?, and £59 respectively. Buggy, horse, and harness, £GO. The grass laud Ki/(i per acre, Two-year-old colts and fillies, £l7 to £3O each ; aged draught, £ll to il'22 10/ ; riding horses, £0 to £l4 each. At Rcmuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were indifferently represented, and in good demand. Store cattle in moderate numbers, and fairly enquired for at late values. Fat cattle in average numbers —1.'7 penned, but generally of small size ; they were of good quality, and in steady request, at a slight advance over last week's values. Sheep market unusually full, but late prices sustained. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Rkpoiit—Horses: As is usual the holidays had a damaging effect on the market. The auction sale was held on Saturday instead of Friday, but the entries were scarcely up to the average. There was a tolerable demand, and nearly all in were disposed of: hacks at from £7 to £ll 15/; light draught horses from £l3 to £l7 10/. Cattle: The Newmarket Yards wok well filled with store and fat stock, aud dairy cows were tolerably represented as to numbers, but of very inferior description. The bidding was tolerably spirited throughout. Weaned cattle fiolci from 35/ to 38/ ; yearlings from £2 to £2 12/0 ; two and three-year-old steers from £3 10/ to £5 11/ each ; beef from 22/ to 26/ per 1001 b. Sheep were in excellent supply, and consequently prices had a downward tendency, but some well-fatted Taranaki sheep maintained last week's rates at per lb. Some good lambs, also from Taranaki, sold at from 14/ to 18/. Stores : Loug-woolled ewes, realized 22/6 each ; ewe lambs,'* 16/ to 19/' We quote mutton -/3-J to -/4 per lb.
