Cure for Styes in the Eye.—Put a teaspoonful of soda in a small bag ; pour on it just enough boiling water to moisten it, then put it on the eye pretty warm. Keep it on all night, and in 'the morning the stye will most likely he gone ;| if not, a second application is sure to remove it. We have also beard tbat the white of an egg, applied to the eyelid with a feather just before retiring, soon effects a cure. Styes arise from impurity of the blood, and no permanent cure can be effected by a mere external application. The blood should he kept in a healthy condition by the frequent use of some mildpurgati ve, say a dose of. magnesia pad rhubarb/ -
