The s.a. Fairy, Captaiu J. Campbell, arrived in harbor on Monday evening last from Wairoa and Mohaka. She steamed for Porangahau about 6 p.m. yesterday. The ship Queen Bee, Capt. T. L. Burch, (late of the Chile), left Wellington on Sunday morning, had southerly winds the greater part of the way up, and arrived here about 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
The schooner Colonist, Capt. E. Jones, arrived on Tuesday afternoon, from Cabbage Bay, with 15,000 bricks, 27,0 0 feet timber, and two passengers.—The Colonist will sail for Auckland to-morrow, weather permitting. The s.s. Rangatira, Captain C. Lloyd, arrived from Poverty Bay on Wednesday morning, and left for Wellington and Castle Point at 6 p.m. same day with 100 sheep and 11 bales wool.
The s.s. Star of the South, Captain Farquhar, left Auckland at 1.30 p.m. on the 16th, arrived at Poverty Bay at 6 a.m. on the 17th. Landed cargo and passengers, and left at 10 a.m., rounded Portland Island at 4 p.m., and arrived in port at .10.30 same night. Experienced N. and N.W. winds throughout the passage. She brings a large cargo aud 32 passengers.—The Star leaves for Auckland at 3 p.m. to-day. The S.S. St. Hilda, Capt.J. Flowerdayi arrived iu the roadstead at :-'.30 a.m. yesterday, from Auckland and left for Wellingtou and Waut'anui at 6 p.m.

Tlie ketoh Clematis, Capt. W. Bendall. will leave for Mangakuri and the coast this morning for a cargo of wool. A schooner, supposed to be .the Saucy lass, was in the Bay last evening. A Boat Adrift—On Wednesday afternoon a boat was seeu from the Napier beach •drifting away towards the Kidnappers. It .proved to be one belonging to the ship Excelsior, which had got away froin her stern unobserved by the crew. About half-past live Capt. Irving of the Excelsior, and Mr Pearcey, in the steam launch Bella, started in pursuit, and overhauled the boat about six wiles away, returning to the Excelsior, with the prise in tow, shortly before 9 p.m.
