Hawke's Bay Times. Nullius addicbus jurare in verba magistri. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24, 1872. CHRISTMASTIDE.
To morrow the sun will rise on the great festival of the Christian world. Christmas Day, with its hallowed associations and its pleasant memories, will have arrived, and will be as wel come a guest beneath out- t>unny skios as around the cheerful hearths of the old country. One and all will suspend their labor in honor of the season, and devote themselves to quiet enjoyment—and the quieter it is the better, when the thermometer reaches 100 in the shade. Following the general example, we too take our holiday, wish ing all our friends, in the time-honored formula, " a Merry Christmas."
