Jn the .Resident Magistrate 1 * Court this jnoniing there was one civil ca.se •*— PoAVthell v, Manoy. Defendant is a Hveiy stable-keeper, and the claim 'was for £2 5a damages sustained by a saddle in defendants charge. Plaintiff came into lown on the 6th Novem ber, and took his horse to defendant's stable. Finding no one there he tied it up and left it. When he came kick, after some hours, he found that the horse had torn the saddle with his teeth, dan:aging it to such an extent that it cost him the amount claimed to fepair it.-r—The defence was obvious—that the horse had never been duly given into defendant's charge, and on this ground the plaintiff was nonsuited. The Bazaar was largely attended yesterday—at times and the business done greatly exceeded that of the opening day. The Christmas tree was the novelty of the evening ; and tfre music of the fine band was a great attraction. The day's receipts, we believe, amounted to about £l5O.
