Star of the South, Captain F. Holmes, left Auckland at 6 p.m. on Saturday, 14th inst., and rounded the East Cape at 4 a.m. Arrived at Poverty Bay at 5 p.m. yesterday. Discharged 25 tons cargo, and left at 10 p.m., arriving here at 2 p.m. to-day. Had fine weather throughout. She brings 30 tons general cargo,—The Star will steam for the Thames and Auckland at 9 o'clock on Thursday morning. The s.s. Rangatira, hence on Saturday night, arrived at Wellington at 11.30 a.m. to day, The second wool ship of the season—the ship Bobert Henderson—has now on board upwards of 600 bales of wool She will, it is expected, leave fur London on or about New Year's Day. The cutter Dawn, for Poverty Bay, and the schooner Cynthia, for Mangakuri, both sailed last night.
