[FROM THE ANGLO-ATTSTRALIAN PRESS TELEGRAM AGENCY.] WELLINGTON. Friday, Dec. 13. The Government have resolved to spend £I,OOO for the purchase of articles <o be forwarded to the Vienna Exhibition. The Bank of New Zealand has been instructed to collect alluvial and quartz gold. Woollen goods fiom Nelson and Otago are to been sent, A. quantity of flax has been sent-home by the Halcione to bo manufactured into towelling, sheeting, &c., for the Exhibition, Geographical and statistical works on Nev Zealand are also to be sent. GREYMOUTH. Friday, Dec. 13. Five men have been buried in Wheeler’s claim, at the Half Ounce diggings. Two were saved, and two were found dead. The fate of the othei one is not yet Rscertained. INVERCARGILL. Friday, Dec. 13. The Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s show was a great success.
