IJails for Australia and Great Britain, via Melbourne, close at the BiufF at 11 a.m. to-niorro»v (Saturday, 23rd instant.) We understand that in consequence of JSnsigu Balharry having resigned his commission in the papier Rifle Yolunteers, a meeting will be held in the Band-room, Hastings-street, on Wednesday evening next, at half-past seven o'clock, for the purpose of electing a successor. We are compelled to hold over till tomorrow part of our report of the Bechabite tea-meeting last night, including the addresses of the Rev. Mr. Siclev and P.D.C.ft. Troy. We do so in preference to unduly abridging the report. The steamer Luna was employed to day in dragging for the !o*t Govern went moorings, with what result we have not yet heard. There were no ease* in the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning Tin* splendid Band of the Rifle Volunteers will (weather permitting) give another of their highly popular open-air performances in the Gov<>m ment lawn to-morrow afternoon, commencing at 5 o'clock. The programme appears in another place.
